On-device transcription
By default, speech is transcribed on the iPhone, iPad or Mac. The audio stays on your devices and in your iCloud.
Lawyers
Facts, timeline, documents to gather, open questions: when the meeting ends, your notes are structured, and the transcription happened on your device.
3 free summaries · No subscription with your own key · On-device transcription

A dense first meeting: dates, names, amounts. Writing it all down means missing what the client leaves unsaid.
Afterwards you still have to clean them up, rebuild the timeline and list the documents to request.
What’s said in your office is privileged and confidential. It doesn’t belong in just any online service.
With Verba
By default, speech is transcribed on the iPhone, iPad or Mac. The audio stays on your devices and in your iCloud.
For the summary, use your own API key or your firm’s OpenAI-compatible server: then nothing goes through Verba.
Facts, timeline, client goals, documents, issues to resolve: with one instruction, the summary follows your outline.
With Ask, question past meetings: “What date did the client give for signing the lease?”
On Mac, Verba records the call’s sound (Zoom, Meet, Teams) and your microphone.
Photograph a document the client hands you or attach a file: everything stays with the meeting notes.
Sample summary
A made-up example: names, places and figures are fictional. The real content depends on what’s said in your meeting and on your instructions.

Write client meeting notes: people present, statement of facts, dated timeline, the client’s requests and goals, documents provided and documents to obtain, legal points to check, open questions, next steps with owner and due date. Stay factual, flag any uncertainty and never invent a date.
Tell your client and get their consent before recording. Recording laws vary by jurisdiction, and many require the agreement of everyone present.
Confidentiality and privilege apply to your notes and recordings alike. By default, transcription happens on the device and only the text is sent to the model that writes the summary. To keep control, use your own API key or your firm’s OpenAI-compatible server, and turn on automatic deletion. Choosing the setup that fits your professional obligations is up to you.
Verba is a note-taking aid. Its summaries are written by an AI model and can contain mistakes: review them. Neither the recording nor the summary is an official record or transcript.
No account, no ads, no tracking. Your conversations sync through your own iCloud, and your API keys stay in the device’s Keychain.
Verba gives you ways to limit what leaves your devices: on-device transcription by default, no account, sync through your own iCloud, your choice of model, or your firm’s server so nothing goes through Verba. Choosing the setup that fits your professional obligations is up to you.
The audio stays on your devices and in your iCloud, and transcription happens on the device by default. To write the summary, the transcript text is sent to the model you chose: Mistral, a European model, by default, through the Verba API and OpenRouter, and Verba doesn’t store it. With your own key, the text goes straight to the provider you chose; with your firm’s OpenAI-compatible server, nothing goes through Verba.
In Settings › Intelligence › Provider, enter the address of an OpenAI-compatible server, for example a model your firm hosts. Requests then go from the device to that server without passing through Verba.
Not on iPhone: Apple doesn’t let any app record phone calls. At the office, set your iPhone on the table; for a video call, use Verba on Mac. Always tell your client.
No. It’s a note-taking aid written by an AI model, to be reviewed. It doesn’t replace an official record, a sworn statement or any legal document.
